In the Kitchen with Valonda & Lisa

Every week WRAL noon anchor Valonda Calloway and our own Lisa Prince feature seasonal recipes in their Got to Be Good Cookin’ segment using ingredients grown and available right here in North Carolina.  We’ll post each video here, along with links to the recipes.

Nearly 3 billion chicken eggs were harvested by N.C. farmers in 2007, according to our Ag Statistics division. Luckily, you won’t need nearly that many to try out this month’s egg-centric recipes with Valonda and Lisa. You can access printable recipes for March’s Microwave Eggs Divine, Praline French Toast and Chocolate Pots de Crème on the Got to be Good Cookin’ site, a part of our Got to Be NC program. For more information on N.C. eggs, visit the N.C. Egg Association for a “Hen House to Your House” video, nutritional info, safety tips and more.

Check out the video below to see the pair try out Lisa’s easy recipe for Microwave Eggs Divine.

That’s right: According to our 2007 Ag Statistics, chickens on N.C. farms produced 2,960,000,000 eggs in 2007. That would make a little over 493 million batches of Microwave Eggs Divine!
