Partners on the project include the North Carolina State University Seafood Laboratory, the Core Sound Waterfowl Museum, the N.C. Division of Marine Fisheries and North Carolina Sea Grant.
One of the neatest things about the blog, however, are the Seafood Traditions posts that contributors Joyce Taylor (author of the Mariner’s Menu book), Dave Gree, Pam Morris and Barry Nash highlight.
In this category, you’ll find interviews with fishermen, chefs, boat captains, seafood nutritionists and others that spotlight the unique culture of the N.C. seafood industry.
The N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services also has a valuable resource for N.C. seafood lovers. The N.C. Seafood Directory allows consumers to search by company type (broker, exporter, processor, etc.) and seafood species, or access a complete listing of seafood companies. Also check out our Marketing Division’s seafood home page, which features recipes, links, a neat video on the 5th annual Great American Seafood Cook-off and more.
